Dr Neil McAuslane is currently Director of the Centre for Innovation in Regulatory Science.  Prior to joining CIRS, Neil completed a PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh, having gained an MSc in Toxicology at the University of Surrey and a BSc in Pharmacology from Dundee University. He joined CMR International in 1988 as a Postdoctoral Fellow in affiliation with the Division of Clinical Pharmacy, University of Wales, Cardiff, and became a permanent member of staff in 1991. Neil has worked on and initiated a number of CMR International’s and CIRS key projects in the areas of regulatory strategy, quality of regulatory review, benefit risk assessment, quality of decision-making, patient engagement, and R&D performance working with pharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies both mature and evolving.  He has edited and co-authored several Publications and Reports as well as being involved in the supervision of the CIRS PhD students.
